Biography

Dr. L. Renee Hilton-Rowe is the Chief of Minimally Invasive Surgery and an Associate Professor at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University Medical Center. She is also the Director of the Center for Obesity and Metabolism as well as robotic surgery at Augusta University. She completed her general surgery residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida and then fellowship in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery at Yale University. She has served in multiple leadership roles within the GA ASMBS chapter including S.T.A.R. and is currently serving as Vice President. She is the Co-Chair of the Access to Care Committee for ASMBS. She is the principal investigator on numerous studies and her primary research interests include obesity, bariatric and minimally invasive surgery, surgical education and simulation, and improving access to bariatric surgery. She is a wife and mother and currently resides with her family and practices in Augusta, Georgia.
